1 is A | 2 is B

There have been many updates everyday to Edgy Eft (PPC 64) everyday. There are things that I am still looking forward to getting, however:

1. win32codecs

   The video support is still lacking.  I’m waiting on the win32codecs and better firefox support for video in general.

2. Automatix

   The Automatix folks have been making headway with Edgy Eft however no sign of a PPC version yet. I have the repo set up for when it is.

3. Ruby Gems

   I have run into a snag with getting rails and mysql to talk to each other. The only solution I can find involves a .so file to be installed through gems. I’m impatient to get rails and continue developing in Rails.

4. Widescreen Support

   I have a 17″ widescreen display built into the iMac. I’ve messed with the xorg.conf file a bit but can’t get a stable solution to widescreen resolution. It’s running on 1024×768 which besides being less than optimal, makes everything a little fat.

Everything else is going very well. I’ve got a LAMP server up and running, and i’ve forced Eclipse to play nice (but can’t wait for a ppc RadRails version to come out either).
